ITALY AND REGIONS
In this section some partial data are reported from projections for Italy and for the single regions, elaborated in 1994 by Luciano Petrioli and Andrea Menchiari of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Siena. (1)
Beginning with the base population of 1994, the projections were estimated by assuming some hypotheses relative to both female fertility and the mortality of both sexes.
Flows of immigration per annual quota were also considered.
Here we present the projections obtained by the hypotheses that the population develops according to tendential fertility and tendential mortality. For every five-years period from 1999 to 2044, the tables contain the amount of the population, the annual rate of population growth, the population structure by age-classes 0-14; 15-64; 65-, the dependency ratio, tha ageing ratio, and the life expectancy.
